Description

In this painting, I wanted to capture the fleeting magic of springtime in Pretoria. For a few weeks every year, the city is transformed into a lilac-hued dream, and I aimed to immortalize that specific stillness found on a sun-drenched suburban street.

The focus of this piece is the play of light and shadow. By emphasizing the long shadows cast by the arching canopy, I invite the viewer to feel the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the shade.

It captures a peaceful, perfect afternoon during the most famous season in South Africa’s capital.
